LUT files

From Phil's (Philip Symons - Senior Software Engineer) email:

With regard to the luminance problem, there is a bug with the gamma correction program with regard to running the Check mode without gamma correcting first. It does not mean that the gamma files are incorrect, just that the check mode has an initialisation bug. If you run the gamma correction then you should find that Check then works ok. Hopefully this shouldn't effect you to much since it is a good idea to run the gamma correction regularly anyway.

When creating new LUT files, copy them also to "defred.lut" "defgreen.lut" "defblue.lut" so that when system is crashes and current LUT files get overwritten* by default (as set in Series3.ini) LUT files, the correct calibration still will be used. Keep the original default LUT files as *.sav.
Also need to do it when upgrading Series3/kernel software.

* Note: the message

    1 file(s) copied
    1 file(s) copied
    1 file(s) copied
appears in s3kernel DOS console when this happens.
